Cape Town-Pretoria Train Journey Day 1

           - Depart from Cape Town for an unforgettable journey on Rovos Rail.

           - Lunch on board

           - Leaving Cape Town, you will cross the exquisite Cape vineyards, dotted at the foot of imposing granite mountains and green hills.

After reaching Worcester in the Hex River Valley, the train ascends approximately 750 metres up the face of the escarpment and passes four tunnels through the mountain pass, the last of which is 13,5 km. Disembark at Matjiesfontein for an opportunity to stroll through the historic village where time seems to have stood still. For the steam trains that ran between Cape Town and Johannesburg, this station was their last chance to fill up on water before crossing the barren Karoo. Of special interest is the museum on the platform and a collection of historic cars and railway carriages to the right of the Lord Milner Hotel.

Cape Town-Pretoria Train Journey Day 2

           - Breakfast

           - Arrival at Kimberley Train Station and disembark for a tour of the historic town, the diamond mine museum and the ‘Big Hole’.

Kimberley is the capital of the Northern Cape province and well known for the discovery of diamonds that led to its establishment in 1871. Stop to see various interesting artefacts at the museum, and a get bird’s eye views of the Big Hole, the largest hand-dug excavation on earth and where some of the world's first diamonds were found.

Cape Town-Pretoria Train Journey Day 3

           - Breakfast

           - Travel northeast through the goldfields of the Witwatersrand. Your train journey concludes at the Rovos Rail station in Pretoria,                         known for its striking jacaranda trees that paint the city purple during October and November.

           - Lunch on board

           - Dinner on board: Rovos Rail

           - Overnight on board : Rovos Rail - Delux Cabin - Cape Town to Pretoria
