Winelands Full Day Visit :

Attention wine lovers!

The Stellenbosch winelands, only 20 minutes away from the city of Cape Town, offer a superb scenery, completely different to the landscape of the Cape peninsula. Numerous grapes are grown in the region such as Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage and the Méthode Cap Classique (local champagne). The town of Stellenbosch is a small but very vibrant town with a very famous university and numerous activities such a wine cellar tours and tastings. You will have the opportunity to purchase wines to bring back home to enjoy the region's wonderful vintages after your visit.
(1h 45min)

Franschhoek ("the french corner") is an old Huguenot village. With its numerous streets and estates with french names, the town will make you feel completely disoriented, feeling like you were in France in another era. You will be completely enchanted by the town's charm and its very peaceful environment. You will get the chance to taste the region's delicacies, cheeses and its best wines.

Since the 1st of october, we are very proud to take you on an unique ride on the Franschoek Tram

Drakenstein Prison

Drakenstein (Victor Verster) is a low-security prison between Paarl and Franschhoek. The prison is famous for being the location where Nelson Mandela spent the last part of his imprisonment for campaigning against apartheid.

The town of Paarl offers a great window into Afrikaner culture and tradition. The district is particularly well known for its Pearl Mountain or "Paarl Rock". This huge granite rock is formed by three rounded outcrops that make up Paarl Mountain and has been compared in majesty to Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock) in Australia. You will also be able to visit the town's vineyards where you will taste the region's finest wines.

Pick up and drop off at your hotel or guesthouse around Cape Town.

We did the half day afternoon tour which was excellent. Were picked up from our accommodation with no problems at 1330 and were joined by 8 other people. Our guide was great and informative during our journey to Stellenbosch. We visited 2 wine estates, one for wine and cheese, the other for wine and biltong. Both were excellent and we had the opportunity to purchase wine from both. We then had some time to explore the town of Stellenbosch. The driver dropped us back to our apartment at 1830. We had a great day and were fortunate to have such a friendly and entertaining group to spend it with!

This was a terrific experience. I only booked the day before so was a bit dubious that it would work out so last minute. But the shuttle picked me up right on schedule. Our guide, Redaa, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited two wineries, tasting a broad selection of wines at each; at one the wines were paired with SA cheeses, and at the other several of the wines were paired with different kinds of biltong - fun! Breathtaking views - the Stellenbosch region is so beautiful. -- I was in Cape Town for work and only had a half day to tour. Taking this half-day wine excursion was the best decision. I will be back, and will choose other tours from the same operator.

I had a fantastic time! The different wine estates were lovely and unique in their own way. Enjoyed the stops along the way as well as the ride with the Franschhoek Tram. Great wine, cheese and biltong. Our tour guide Jan was knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. Great tour if you want to see more than just one town or estate!
