ABOUT AFRICAN EAGLE DAYTOURS

We trust that your main concern is that you or your clients receive great and efficient service and have the tour experience you envisaged and desire at a competitive price.

African Eagle Daytours was established in 1997 based on the realization that, whilst a good number of passengers arrived on our shores in organized groups, an even larger portion arrived as individuals who hadn’t planned the full details of their stay before landing. We therefore identified the need for flexible touring solutions and created an organization that could provide organized tours and safaris (from half-days to four days) for the single traveler, small groups and even fully tailor-made private or group tours.

We also have established a scheduled guaranteed departure day tour service that operates 365 days of the year with no minimums re number of passengers. This gives us the ability to accept last minute bookings or the extra passenger on a prepackaged or published tours – in other words, we are the go to guys when looking for last minute solutions.

In 2005 African Eagle Daytours merged with Grassroute Tours, a black owned company specializing in Township tours and cultural experiences, in a ground breaking empowerment deal. This was hailed by the Minister for tourism, Lynne Brown, in the following words,

“This merger between African Eagle Daytours and Grassroute Tours is a victory for both public and private sectors. There is no doubt in my mind that they will do better business, achieve better yields and deliver an improved service to all our consumers.”

Grassroute Tours was established in 1997 and quickly established itself as a market leader offering township tours and cultural experiences in a non invasive sustainable way, bringing benefits to the communities it visited. The merger with African Eagle Daytours gave it a platform to deliver an already superior experience and enhance the benefits to the communties it operated in.

As a result of this merger African Eagle Daytours is now not only a truly South African company, but also a fully compliant Black Economic Empowerment company with the benefits thereof for its clients.

OUR PHILOSPHY

We believe that African Eagle Daytours does not operate in a vacuum and like we have an obligation and responsibility to our clients to do everything in our power for their benefit, we also have an obligation and duty to extend the benefits of tourism to our country and it’s people. To this end, African Eagle Daytours were one of the first companies to embrace the principles of BEE.

We are also founder members of the Tourism Community Development Trust (www.tcdtrust.org.za), which is involved in sustainable community developmentprojects. At home, we believe that our staff, the majority of which come from the ranks of the historically disadvantaged, is our greatest asset. We have implemented training programmes that have allowed our staff to become skilled and seasoned tourism Professionals.

OUR ABILITY

We believe that the promise manifests itself in the delivery, our organizational infrastructure is therefore set up
around this premise.

Annual colour brochure:
We print about 120000 multi page full colour brochures per annum which is available at most accommodation
establishments and tour info centres. This gives our clients direct access to our range of tourism products and
relevant information about them.

Highly trained and motivated staff:
As mentioned earlier, we invest heavily in our staff. We also incentivise them to go that extra mile and ensure that
our clients needs are catered for.

Qualified and experienced guides:
Our guides are accredited and highly experienced. They undergo a rigorous selection process which includes
educationals and finally a tour on which they are assessed before they start .Their performance is evaluated on
a daily basis and their remuneration is linked to the level of passenger satisfaction. Most of our guides work for
African Eagle Daytours exclusively.

Hands on management:
African Eagle operates on a parallel management structure, whereby everybody is responsible and involved in
catering for our clients needs. It is not unusual for the managing director to take telephonic bookings. Another
director is known to assist with the collection of passangers from time to time.

All calls are recorded:
This facility ensures that we can track and trace any discrepancy and also serves as a tool to verify telephonic
information given to us by the client.

Well maintained fleet:
African Eagle has one of the largest fleets of small touring vehicles. Most of our vehicles seat between 10 – 15
passangers, thereby ensuring smaller groups and more intimate touring. Our vehicles are serviced regularly and
well managed and maintained by our fleet department. Our vehicles are not older than three years old.

24/7 Booking office:
African Eagle’s booking office is open from 07h00 to 23h00 seven days a week, 365 days of the year. Despite this,
we also have an after hours number, should you wish to call at 23h05. This ensures that your needs are taken
care of instantly.

Tourmap:
We have designed a booking, plotting and account management system which records, tracks and plots a booking
from the time that it is imputed to the generation of the invoice or commission specific to the client. This ensures
that your booking is not ‘lost’ or ‘forgotten’ and that the account pertaining to that booking is automatically generated.

Part of African Eagle Group:
The link to the African Eagle Group gives us more buying power and therefore better rate and access to more
products and properties in Southern Africa, including Namibia and Kenya.
